It was senior night and the final match of the 2022 season for the Grier tennis team. The evening started out with recognizing our seniors, Anna, Nanlin, and Tran for their contributions to the tennis team this year. Their leadership, talent, and work effort epitomize the Grier School spirit and they represented our team really well.
Grier fell to the Mercersburg tennis academy 6-2 in a very competitive match. Our number 1 doubles team, Nanlin and Fernanda made and amazing comeback down 7-4 to win their match 9-7!! Eugenia and Sophia won a difficult battle at number 2 doubles 8-6. At number 3 doubles Daniela and Kyubin won 3 games in only their 2nd match playing together but fell 3-8.
In singles, our team had very tightly contested matches. Anna lost 5-8 in number 1 singles, Maria fell 2-8 to her opponent at number 2 singles, Eva played well at number 3 singles but lost 5-8, Delilah played a great match but lost in a tie breaker 8-9, and Jimena lost a difficult battle at number 5 singles 5-8.
We are very thankful for all of our fan support at our match and throughout the year. The team finished with a 7-2 record and completed a great year of competition. Go Foxes (Vamos Zorros!).
